How counselling can help

Counselling offers a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about what you are going through, at your own pace, and begin to make sense of what may be feeling difficult or overwhelming.

Together, we can gently explore life’s challenges, build self-awareness, and notice what might help you feel more grounded and confident. Counselling is not about giving you all the answers; it is about helping you reconnect with your own strengths, choices, and inner resources, with care and professional support alongside you.

Counselling may support you to:
• understand what feels most important to you right now
• notice patterns, triggers, and feelings with more kindness and clarity
• recognise the strengths and resources you already carry within you
• develop practical tools that feel realistic and manageable in everyday life
• feel less alone, less overwhelmed, and more able to cope with setbacks

Growing self-awareness at your own pace

As our work together develops, you may begin to see your situation more clearly. This might include understanding what is weighing on you, recognising emotional triggers, and becoming more aware of the personal strengths that can support you through difficult moments.

We can also explore tools and techniques that you can gently practise between sessions and use in real-life situations. With time, this can help challenges feel a little more manageable and support you to respond to yourself with greater confidence, care, and self-compassion.

Feeling more supported beyond counselling

As counselling progresses, you may find yourself feeling more able to manage emotions using the tools we have worked on together, rather than feeling limited to old ways of coping. If it would be helpful, we can also talk about ongoing support for up to three months after your counselling sessions have ended.

I have learnt in the past few years that a good rapport with my client is the key to get my clients to feel comfortable enough to trust me with their issues which I am so grateful about. I am a people person and I have never been in an awkward situation with my clients before. I assure you, you wont be the first. In addition to that, I offer a safe comfortable environment where you can relax and share issues that you feel may be difficult to share with your immediate family or friends. It is a place where you can find relief from your mental distress.

What would I expect in my first session?

We will have our first consultation by going through verbal and written contracts, including when to meet and time. I will listen to your presenting issues; we will then discuss which issues you would like to go through first. You oversee your session. You will decide how the session should go. I am here to assist you discover what you already know.
